Two Atlantic City men were arrested after police allegedly found each with a gun in his waistband.
Detectives were conducting surveillance in the 700 and 800 blocks of Virginia Avenue, targeting two men in possession of firearms, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Mahrod Barley-Stukes and Kasean Griffin were detained after the detectives observed them for a period of time, according to the report.
Each was found with a loaded handgun, and arrested, Fair said.
Barley-Stukes, who turned 18 in August, also had more than three grams of cocaine, according to the charges.
The investigation was led by Detective Eric Evans.
"The Atlantic City Police Department continues to actively pursue those who possess illegal firearms and pose a danger to our community,” Chief James Sarkos said. “We will continue to target these offenders to ensure that our residents and visitors are safe."
Barley-Stukes is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense.
Griffin, 24, is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition and obstruction of justice.
