Distillery offering clean water to Atlantic City residents

  • News

An Atlantic City distillery used its equipment for a different product this weekend.

The Seed: A Living Beer Project tells BreakingAC that they have "boiled up a ton of water" after a boil water advisory was issued by the city.

The water is clean and free, according to the company.

All residents have to do is bring a vessel to fill, and they can take all they need.

Anyone getting served at the business at 807 Baltic Ave. can have bottled water.

The business will not use their glass rinser, and instead will be dunking their glasses in a pre-boiled and chilled water bath prior to pouring.

They also are prepared to boil and chill more water if resident need increases.

Mayor Marty Small held a news conference Friday evening alerting residents to the issue. The Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority was working to flush the water and handle the problem, leaders assured.

He said during an update at a news conference Saturday afternoon that the state was satisfied with the first flushing, and testing would be underway.

"We are extremely cautious and optimistic that by (Sunday) afternoon, the boiling water warning will be lifted," Small said.
