A Millville man was found guilty of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child Friday.
Marvin Stidham, 64, was arrested Nov. 15, 2021, after a five-month investigation found he had sexual contact with a 4-year-old girl in Commercial Township.
He was originally charged with four counts, including two second-degree charges of sexual assault.
Stidham could face 25 years in prison, if the state is granted a motion to give him an extended term at his sentencing set for April 21.
In sexual assault cases, the sentencing often gets postponed while awaiting an evaluation at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel, Middlesex County.
Any sentence will also include a requirement to register under Megan's Law and comply with parole supervision for life.
Stidham is currently in South Woods State Prison, where he was sentenced in October for a decade-old forgery case, court records show.
