Public asked to join search for missing Pleasantville man

  • News

A group will set out into the woods in Mays Landing on Sunday in an attempt to find a Pleasantville man missing nearly two months.

Tracy Faulkner II, 33, was last seen Dec. 6.

His unoccupied vehicle was found in the area of New York Avenue in Mays Landing, police previously said.

He is described as a 6-foot-4 black male weighing about 200 pounds.

A search party will gather at the end of Harbor Avenue near New York Avenue.

The group wants to enter the woods on either side of the street at 10 a.m.

The organizers are asking that those searching be at least 18, since they are unsure what they may find.

"The most important thing is that everyone returns home safely and the way they showed up," the announcement reads.

The group will not be pushing into extremely dense and difficult to traverse areas. They also ask anyone participating not cross any water, frozen or otherwise.

No one should touch anything of interest. Instead they are asked to take a photo and report it.

The group will form a horizontal line in the more open areas, walking side-by-side about arm's length apart.

The organizer will have three walkie talkies to provide for groups and keep the fourth one.

If it rains, 75 disposable ponchos are available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamilton Township police at 609-625-2700, ext. 1.
