Autistic man's police tour comes to Ventnor

  • News

An autistic man from Pennsylvania brought his years-long law enforcement tour to Ventnor this week.

Alex Mann was an honorary lieutenant Tuesday, after visiting hundreds of departments across five states.

The Ventnor Police Department was his 459th department in 4½ years. He was assigned 459 as his badge number for the day as a result.

His aim is to show support for law enforcement while educating officers on autism.

Mann got a uniform, a tour of the department and even used the radio to direct officers to the courtroom for a photo.

Mann even stopped for a bite with his fellow officers.

"Ventnor police officers were grateful to spend time with such an inspirational young man," the department said.
