Atlantic City fire that displaced five ruled accidental

  • News

An Atlantic City fire that displaced five people and two dogs was ruled accidental, the fire chief told BreakingAC.

The fire on Barkentine Court in Gardner's Basin last Tuesday was due to improperly stored paint and cleaning products that resulted in spontaneous combustion, Fire Chief Scott Evans said.

There was significant damage to the garage and smoke damage to the home, he said. Evans did not have a cost estimate.

Firefighters Rashawn Brock and Joe Hackney rescued one of the dogs from the fire.

No injuries were reported.
