A Mays Landing woman was indicted for aggravated manslaughter in a crash that killed a Stockton University student in March.
Alexia Glass, 25, was allegedly speeding under the influence and on a suspended license when she rear-ended a vehicle on Route 322 in Hamilton Township just before 12:30 a.m. March 28.
Yolanda Pacheco, 22, was from Mount Holly, but was living in Egg Harbor City while she attended Stockton, according to her obituary.
She was two months away from graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology when she was killed.
Glass was originally charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, court records show. But a grand jury indicted her on the first-degree charge of aggravated manslaughter.
She also faces charges assault by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed.
Glass also had almost a dozen traffic tickets related to the deadly crash, including consuming alcohol or cannabis inside a motor vehicle, open container or unsealed cannabis, following too closely, careless driving and reckless driving, court records show. The vehicle also is listed as not registered.
The court record also lists an outstanding driving under the influence case from April 2022, which lists similar citations to those in the March case, including open container/unsealed cannabis.
Glass is not currently jailed.
