An Egg Harbor Township motorcyclist was seriously injured in an Egg Harbor Township crash just after midnight Sunday, police said.
Leonardo Castrochacon, 41, was riding his Yamaha YZF motorcycle south on Fire Road when Quashawn Hawkins made a left into his path, according to the initial investigation.
Hawkins, 31, of Pleasantville, was heading east from Easy Street in Harbor Crossings, according to the report.
His Kia Forte was stopped at the intersection with Fire Road when he made the left, Lt. Ernest Dunston said.
Castrochacon was thrown from the motorcycle, and sustained serious injuries, Dunston said.
He was treated on scene by Egg Harbor Township EMS and AtlantiCare Paramedics, and then taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus.
Hawkins was not injured.
Summonses are pending, Dunston said.
Fire Road was closed between the Black Horse Pike and Tilton Road for about two hours while the crash was being investigated.
Officers Nathan Lahr and Cody Ng are investigating.
