Attention locals that want to support their talented neighbors and attention tourists that are looking for something a little different to do on their trip to Atlantic City!
As mentioned in previous Breaking AC articles, Prudential presents North to Shore events are happening all over the city. Many events are even free.
There’s a full list of events on the N2S website. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the action now through Sunday. If you do, you’ll have to schlepp to Newark for the final week of the festival.
Every event in the festival has been carefully curated through an application process. You can’t go wrong. But below are five original happenings pulled from this weekend’s schedule that you don’t see every day.
The Barn Show is a community event at the new C.R.O.P.S. garden at Fisherman’s Park.
You can learn about the organization’s mission and be entertained by Red Meat Conspiracy and DJ Big Body Kito. There are grills for cooking. Plus, you can view a life-size art installation of the nostalgic Fisher Price Barn conceived by local artists.
C.R.O.P.S. fights food insecurity in our area. Red Meat Conspiracy is just plain fun! I mean, how many “cow bands” do you get to see live?
Dance with the local stars at AC Pride’s fundraiser Dancing Under the Rainbow. You can support the AC Pride scholarship fund by attending. The fund contributes to deserving LGBTQ+ students in the community.
If you are craving old Atlantic City, this festive visit to the historic Claridge ballroom will leave you…well … spinning.
How about a night at the theatre dah-ling? Be among the first to see the world premiere of "Last Hand" written by Atlantic City playwright Heidi Mae.
Follow along and try to solve the case before the final curtain in this murder staged inside the Claridge. Everyone is a suspect in the fictitious Starlight Room. I’m betting on you to figure it out.
We all have a gamer in our lives. Bring them to the E-Sports Showdown Tournament.
This event at the Pier is a collaboration between Stockton University, ACX1 studios and Garden State Esports. Play Rocket League, League of Legends, Smash Brothers and classic retro arcade titles. Attendees can learn about the industry too.
Can you ever really get to the beach enough? The North to Shore Bonfire is a great reason to hit the shore this weekend. There will be fire performances, beers and cocktails. Catch a vibe like no other.
This event has its own website with details in addition to being listed on the N2S schedule.
Of course, it goes without saying that the festival is also full of the standard music, dance and comedy expected at a week-long extravaganza. There’s everything from national acts to community stages and a mix of cover bands and original artists.
So get out there! Participate in an event and create some art of your own. Or, sit back and let the pros entertain you. The artistic ball is in your court.
