One person is in custody after a shooting in Pleasantville wounded a man Saturday.
Police were called to the 300 block of West Park Avenue at 11:32 a.m. by a ShotSpotter audio-gunshot detection notification, Capt. Angelo Maldonado said.
Andrew Miller, 31, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said Sundy.
The suspect left the area in a Lexus, which was later stopped by State Police on the Atlantic City Expressway.
The driver was identified as Marlon Chiles II, 26, of Atlantic City.
Chiles was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.
He was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after a large quantity was found in his vehicle, according to the report.
Chiles is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
This incident is currently being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department with assistance from the New Jersey State Police, the Atlantic City Police Department and the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department.
