Shirley MacLaine filming movie in Atlantic City

  • News

There was action around the old Pic-A-Lilli Inn on Wednesday morning — literally.

The Atlantic City bar — now King's Pub — provided the backdrop for a movie being filmed in the area.

Legendary actress Shirley MacLaine is starring in the film with Stephen Dorff.

MacLaine mentioned spending her 90th birthday filming in the resort during an interview with “Extra” in March.

“I’m going to be on a set… I’ll be in Atlantic City,” the entertainment news outlet reported in an interview with Billy Bush.

She turned 90 on April 24.

MacLaine gave more insight into the movie in a social media post after her birthday.

“As you read this, I am getting ready to begin a new movie scheduled to film on the East Coast,” she said.

“People Not Places” is about a “sprightly woman in her twilight years who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a local homeless man, while struggling to mend a troubled relationship with her son,” she wrote.

The project is directed by Brad Furman, who directed Matthew McConaughey in “The Lincoln Lawyer.”

It’s written by Furman’s mother, Ellen Brown Furman.

“I recently spent my 90th with a few close friends and I’m doing something that I still enjoy— filming a new movie,” she wrote. “What a wonderful way to celebrate.”

Pleasantville is also on the list of filming locations, BreakingAC has learned.
