Atlantic City event to help clear bench warrants

  • Courts

Atlantic City's anti-violence team is sponsoring an event Wednesday to lift bench warrants out of the municipal court.

The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the All Wars Memorial building courtesy of One Neighborhood Evolution, or ONE.

Warrants out of the Atlantic City Joint Municipal Court — which covers the city and Pleasantville — can be looked up and cleared.

Those who have warrants in other municipalities can come to get information to guide those who need help, said Omar McDaniel, assistant director of ONE.

The Atlantic County Superior Court is also expected to have representation at the event, that also will offer help with expungements.

No one will be arrested at the event, McDaniel assures.

"I would not attach my name to it if that wasn't the case," he said.
