A Galloway Township driver who crashed in Atlantic City allegedly had drugs and active warrants but no driver's license, according to police.
Louis Murphy, 22, crashed with another vehicle just before 5 p.m. Tuesday at Tennessee and Baltic avenues, Capt. Kevin Fair said.
Officer John Bell saw the crash, and watched as Murphy got out of a vehicle and started to walk away, according to the report. Bell then ran after Murphy and detained him.
He was found to have several active warrants, Fair said. Murphy did not have a valid driver's license.
He was taken into custody and found with 100 bags of heroin and six grams of cocaine, Fair said.
Murphy was charged with several drug counts, along with money laundering. He also had several drug charges on the warrants, including possession of a knife, according to the charges read during his first court appearance Wednesday.
He will remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing set for Monday.
Police had Murphy living in Atlantic City, but he corrected the judge and gave a Galloway address.
