An Atlantic City man faces 12 years in prison after admitting to raping a sleeping woman at the Atlantic City terminal.

Eric Williams, now 56, was arrested after high-definition video surveillance showed him raping the woman, who told police she did not know that assault occurred.

Police received a complaint, and found evidence of two attacks, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

Video showed Williams touching and rubbing a sleeping man's buttocks at about 1:42 a.m. May 19, 2022.

In the second attack, Williams pulled down the sleeping woman's pants and digitally penetrated her before pulling down his own pants and raping her, the affidavit states.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between N.J. Transit and Atlantic City police, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Williams pleaded guilty last week to first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

He is scheduled to be sentenced March 19 by Superior Court Judge Pam D'Arcy.

Williams would have to serve 85 percent of his sentence under the No Early Release Act, and register as a Megan's Law offender with lifetime supervision upon his release.

Williams previously pleaded guilty in an attack on a woman on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in 2018.

At that time, he was accused of putting the woman in a headlock near Kennedy Plaza, and then throwing her to the ground, according to the affidavit in that case.

He fled with her cell phone.

Williams refused a police officer's attempts to stop him. When the officer placed him under arrest, Williams struck the officer, resulting in a bloody nose.

He was in the Atlantic County Justice Facility for 259 days, court records show. His plea called for no jail time, and he was released.

Williams has been jailed since his arrest in the sexual assault May 20, 2022.
