Tyrese Maxey directly challenged Joel Embiid in a team meeting Monday, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Following a 106-89 loss to the Miami Heat that saw the Sixers drop to an NBA-worst 2-11 record, there was a team meeting. Charania obtained some spicy details of what was said during the discussion:
In the meeting, Maxey challenged Embiid to be on time to team activities, calling out the former league MVP about being late "for everything" and how it impacts the locker room, from other players to the coaching staff, sources briefed on the meeting told ESPN.

"Tyrese loves Big Fella', but this is the elephant in the room," a person involved in the meeting told ESPN.
Embiid had an interesting response when asked about the team meeting, as noted by Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire:
I asked Joel Embiid about the team meeting and whether it was positive. He responded: “Oh, we had a meeting? I don’t know.” #Sixers
Over his first three games this season, Embiid has struggled to get going, averaging just 14.7 points per game, while shooting an unsightly 32.4%.
Maxey, meanwhile, is currently working his way back from a hamstring injury, but has been on the road with the Sixers.
