Two men are jailed in separate Atlantic City shootings that wounded three men within the same day.
The first victim stopped police in front of the Clayton Graham Public Safety Building at 3:16 a.m. Oct. 12, before collapsing to the ground, Capt. Kevin Fair said.
The unnamed victim was given medical aid, and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment of the injury, which was described as not life-threatening.
An investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit found the victim and Rockwell Pohlig got into an argument in the first block of South Morris Avenue, when Pohlig shot the victim, according to the charges.
Pohlig, 34, of West Deptford, Gloucester County, turned himself in at the Atlantic County Justice Facility on Thursday, and remains in custody pending a detention hearing.
Police were then called to a shooting 7:10 p.m. Oct. 12, for a ShotSpotter alert to the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue.
Officers arrived to find two men wounded, Fair said.
Both were taken to AtlantiCare's City Campus with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Eric Melton was identified as a suspect after an investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit.
Melton, 30, of Atlantic City, also had a warrant for his arrest, Fair said
He was taken into custody Wednesday, by Officers Michael Regalbuto and William Harned at New York and Atlantic avenues, according to the report.
Melton provided false information to the officers, according to an additional charge.
He is jailed pending a detention hearing.
Both men are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and certain person not to possess a weapon.
Melton is additionally charged with obstruction of justice and hindering apprehension.
