Six arrests and a gun in three calls within three hours for Atlantic City police

Atlantic City police broke up a large fight, stopped an assault and arrested a teen with a gun within three hours Tuesday night.

Police were first called to a large fight the 600 block of Absecon Boulevard at 5:46 p.m., Capt. Kevin Fair said.

More than 20 officers responded to the fight involving about 30 females, according to the report.

Police arrested Dominique Sheppard and Briana Stukes, both 22, and Sapphire Stukes-Cabell, 18, all of Atlantic City, along with Taniyah Bond, 20 of Pleasantville. They were charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, and released on summonses.

More arrests are possible pending the investigation, Fair said.

Two hours later, Officers Bayron Zelaya-Chavez and Juan Perez-Delacruz were patrolling the first block of North Georgia Avenue when they heard someone screaming, according to the report.

They found Eugene Brown on top of the screaming man, who was on the ground being assaulted, Fair said. Brown, 53, of Atlantic City, was trying to steal the victim's belongings.

Officers quickly apprehended Brown, and found him in possession of five grams of cocaine, according to the charges.

The victim was treated by medical personnel at the scene.

Then Officers Michael Regalbuto, Alex Torres, Moustafa Maarouf and Glen Robinson saw a group loitering in the first block of South Florida Avenue near a no trespassing sign at 8:36 p.m., Fair said.

The group dispersed s police approached them.

A teen ran down an alley, trying to hide, Fair said. The 16-year-old was found with a loaded handgun and small amounts of cocaine and heroin, Fair said.

He was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
