Small-business owners from throughout Atlantic County joined together Tuesday for a Small Business Government Purchasing Event at Stockton University’s Atlantic City Campus.
The event hosted by the Atlantic County Economic Alliance and the New Jersey Small Business Development Center was considered a significant milestone in fostering economic development within the county and beyond.
"Today's gathering was a powerful demonstration of how small businesses can navigate the complexities of government contracts to help grow their businesses and diversify the Atlantic County community," ACEA President Lauren Moore Jr. said. "The enthusiasm and engagement from attendees highlight the crucial role these insights play in driving business growth. It was inspiring to see participants from various regions coming together to learn and connect."
The event provided a platform for small business owners to deepen their understanding of government procurement processes, meet influential figures and explore new avenues for growth.
"It was incredibly rewarding to connect with local entrepreneurs and share strategies for accessing government procurement opportunities," said Anthony Miller, business development manager at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. "The exchange of ideas and strategies we witnessed will undoubtedly equip businesses to excel in the competitive field of government contracting. The diverse participation from across states underscored the event’s relevance and the broad interest in leveraging procurement opportunities."
The event "achieved its goal of empowering local and regional businesses," said Max Slusher, ACEA's director of Business Development. "By offering practical knowledge and facilitating connections with key decision-makers, we are supporting our community’s growth and success in government contracting."
The plan is to continue with a series of events aimed at empowering small businesses in the county, according to Mark Rizzo, regional director of NJSBDC at Stockton University.
