Man allegedly fled Absecon police with gun

A Gloucester County man was arrested after he allegedly fled Absecon police and was found with a gun.

Gregory Ganski III, 24, of Williamstown, was stopped by police conducting a traffic enforcement details on Route 30 at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Ganski allegedly crossed the highway improperly.

It was then determined he gave police false information, so they tried to arrest him, according to the report. 

But Ganski ran, discarding a magazine from a firearm during the chase, police said. 

He was eventually caught and found with a handgun, according to the report.

Further investigation found that Ganski had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. 

An Absecon officer sustained a significant injury during the pursuit and was hospitalized, police said.

A witness to the chase told BreakingAC that an officer was seen limping.

Ganski is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on weapon offenses and the outstanding warrants.
