Absegami High School was put on a brief lockdown after an apparent issue involving students Friday morning.
A message sent to parents said the school entered lockdown at 8:37 a.m. "out of an abundance of caution," following "a hallway altercation among students that occurred just before the passing bell."
The lockdown was enacted "to minimize hallway traffic around the incident."
Police categorized it as a small fight.
The lockdown was lifted by 8:54 a.m., and school returned to normal operations.
