A fire was quickly extinguished at the Atlantic City Boardwalk in front of the Tropicana just before noon Monday.
It was first believed there was a wire smoldering, Fire Chief Scott Evans said. But it turned out to be a cigarette.
The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher.
