Oakcrest High School was closed Thursday, after threats were made on a school Instagram account.
A letter sent to parents Wednesday night said that it is believed "the threats may originate from the same individuals responsible for a similar threat made earlier this week."
Police deemed those threats noncredible, a letter sent earlier Wednesday evening said.
But a follow-up letter canceled school and athletics for Thursday for the community's mental well-being.
"This decision is being made out of concern for the emotional and mental health of our community, not because we believe the school to be in imminent danger," the letter stated.
The closing would also give police time to investigate, it said.
Back to School Night will go on, with a 6 p.m. meeting in the auditorium promising to address the issue. It was also hopeful that more information would be available at that time.
