Three people were charged with possession of a handgun under the age of 21 after a car stop in Atlantic City on Wednesday.
Dillan Dwomo, 20, of Egg Harbor Township, was stopped for traffic violations at 1:11 a.m. in the area of New York and Adriatic avenues, Capt.Kevin Fair said.
Officer John Bell was talking to the driver when the 16-year-old passenger opened the door, allowing the officer to see a handgun holster and a satchel on the floor, according to the report.
The three occupants in the vehicle were all removed. A loaded handgun was found in the satchel, according to the charges.
Dwomo, the minor from Pleasantville and 18-year-old Dashawn Braxton of Atlantic City were all placed in custody without incident, Fair said.
The two men were sent to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The minor was released to a parent with a future court date.
Dwomo has a pending case of assault by auto and simple assault out of Egg Harbor Township from June, court records show.
Braxton does not appear to have any other adult charges.
