An all-terrain vehicle driver was killed after crashing in Egg Harbor Township on Friday.
Police were called to Betsy Scull Road near the Atlantic County Firearms Training Facility at about 11:30 p.m.
Initial investigation revealed a 64-year-old township man was riding a 2017 Can-Am ATV in the area when the ATV struck a utility pole, Capt. Cherie Burgan said.
The rider and sole occupant of the ATV suffered life-threatening injuries and was dead when patrol officers arrived.
Egg Harbor Township EMS and the Scullville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The Atlantic County Prosecutors Office is assisting police in the investigation.
The crash is being investigated by Officers Nathan Lahr and Cody Ng of the Traffic Safety Unit.
