Investigation finds no credible threat to Mainland Regional

  • Public Safety

Linwood police say an investigation into a social media threat against "MRHS" shows no connection to Mainland Regional High School.

Posts threatening an act of violence against MRHS was shared numerous times leading to concerns reported by local parents and residents, police said.

A thorough investigation by Linwood police with assistance from police in Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township, along with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office found no credible evidence to suggest Mainland Regional is in danger, police said.

An arrest was made as the result of an investigation by another police department in the state with an MRHS in their jurisdiction, police said.

A suspect was taken into custody there with an imitation firearm recovered.

Linwood police remind residents that if they have concerns or wish to file a report, they can call police at 609-927-5252.
