A Wildwood juvenile is accused of defacing a Boardwalk ramp.
Police were called to Juniper Avenue and the Boardwalk just after 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10, for the report of criminal mischief, according to the report.
Officers found a large area of the Boardwalk ramp was covered in graffiti, the report says.
Investigators were able to identify the juvenile using the new Boardwalk surveillance system, police said.
The boy turned himself in to police headquarters three days later.
He was processed and released to a parent and must complete a stationhouse adjustment.
A stationhouse adjustment, similar to pretrial intervention in the adult courts, allows a first-time juvenile offender to avoid a criminal record by completing a program. He also must pay restitution to have the graffiti removed.
Wildwood police say they have received several reports of these type of cases recently.
"We take these criminal mischief/quality-of-life cases very seriously and know that they will quickly grow into larger issues if not addressed swiftly," police said in a statement on Facebook.
