Atlantic City man found fatally shot on High School overpass

An Atlantic City man was found fatally shot on the overpass leading to Atlantic City High School on Sunday night.

A motorist called 911 at about 11:20 p.m., reporting a man down in the area of 1400 N. Albany Ave., on Route 40 overpass leading to the school, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Vaughn Lyons, 43, was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of death were multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy by the Southern Regional Medical

Examiner’s Office. It is being investigated as a homicide.

This is the second killing in the city this year, with the first happening just eight days earlier. performed an autopsy on Lyons.

This Prosecutor's Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are investigating.
