Weather again postponed the aerial spray for mosquitoes originally set for last week in parts of Galloway Township and Port Republic.
The treatment by the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control now is scheduled for between 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday, as part of the office's ongoing efforts to reduce the population of adult mosquitoes and prevent the spread of mosquito-borne illness.
Weather again could affect the date.
If so, it will happen either Wednesday or Thursday.
The areas to be treated are bounded by: Route 9 and King’s Highway; Route 9 east to the E.B. Forsythe Refuge, from Smith-Bowen Road to Leeds Point Road; Route 9 east to the E.B. Forsythe Refuge, from East Somers Landing Road to East Chanese Lane.
The areas to be treated are between Sooy’s Landing Road, Clark’s Landing Road and Mill Street on the west; and Chestnut Neck to the east.
Aerial spraying will be done using Merus 3.0, a trade name for Pyrethrins, a botanical insecticide, applied as an ultra-low volume aerosol.
