Groups hosting 'No Kings' march and rally Saturday in Atlantic City

  • Community

Several local organizations will bring protesters together in Atlantic City on Saturday as part of a nationwide movement against the president and his policies.

The "No Kings" protests are set for Saturday to coincide with a military parade through the capital that will mark the 250th anniversary of the Army, but has been heralded as a birthday parade for President Donald Trump, who turns 79.

"While President Trump celebrates his birthday with tanks and a staged spectacle of dominance in Washington, communities nationwide are gathering to show what real power looks like — people united in defense of justice, democracy, and dignity," the organizers explained in a news release. "From city blocks to courthouse steps, residents are mobilizing to reject fear and fascism and build a future grounded in collective power.

Atlantic City's event will begin 1 p.m. at Missouri Avenue and the Boardwalk.

The march will end with a rally at O’Donnell Memorial Park set for 2 p.m. Organizers stress the event is nonviolent and family-friendly.
