Detectives investigating fatal shooting of Atlantic City man

Detectives are investigating a shooting that left an Atlantic City man dead Thursday.

Police were called to the Shore Park apartments just before 9 p.m., the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced Saturday.

Robert Stanley Davis, 40, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the report. He later was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of North Virginia Avenue.

The cause of death was confirmed by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Prosecutor's Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are investigating.
