Atlantic County government will host a public meeting this week for feedback on the draft Preliminary State Development and Redevelopment Plan.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the Anthony “Tony” Canale Training Center, 5033 English Creek Ave. in Egg Harbor Township.
N.J. Office of Planning Advocacy Acting Executive Director Walter Lane will present an overview of plan, which is in the process of being updated. The state Planning Commission approved a preliminary plan Dec. 4, and released it two days later.
The plan's release also initiates the cross-acceptance process during which there is a review and comparison of planning policies at multiple government levels to ensure a high level of consistency among municipal, county, regional and state plans.
The cross-acceptance process provides opportunities for stakeholders to partner and ensure municipal, county and regional master plans are considered in the creation of a viable state plan.
Public comments will be accepted during and after the meeting.
Written comments can be sent electronically to stateplan.comments@sos.nj.gov. Include your name, address and affiliation, if applicable, with your comments.
Those who plan to attend this free event, may rsvp to woodward_benjamin@aclink.org or lindaw_robert@aclink.org.
In the event of inclement weather, the public meeting will be rescheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.
