Atlantic County worker allegedly stole from three EBT cards

  • Crime-Courts

An Atlantic County Family and Community Development employee allegedly stole nearly $2,500 in EBT benefits from three clients.

Adriana Quirindongo, 44, of Egg Harbor City, is charged with two counts of official misconduct along with theft by unlawful taking and unlawfully receiving a benefit.

Her alleged crimes were discovered after a client came to the office of the department's supervisor investigator to check the status of his SNAP EBT application, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

It was found that Quirindongo had printed the card on Oct. 7, and then used it on Oct. 9 and 24.

Video surveillance from Wawa showed she made three ATM withdrawals, the affidavit states.

Further investigation by Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Detective Michelle Fromal found two additional victims, she writes in the affidavit.

Quirindongo used her personal cell phone to contact the state call center to access all three accounts, the affidavit states.

The investigation included video from Wawa, Family Dollar and ACME, according to the affidavit.

Quirindongo allegedly was seen completing five purchases on surveillance video.

She also used her own credit card, EBT benefit card or membership accounts to complete transactions listed on two of the victims' cards, the affidavit states.

Quirindongo allegedly made 17 transactions totaling $2,490.06.

She was charged on a summons
