  • News
Atlantic City police found a man with a loaded handgun and drugs Saturday, thanks to a resident’s tip. Police were called to the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue at 12:43 p.m. for the report of a man with a gun, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers in the Police Department’s surveillance center then spotted Anthony Hill, and Sgt. Mark Benjamin along with Officers  Christian Ivanov, Daniel Arra, Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson approached Hill as he entered an apartment building, according to the report. Hill exited the vestibule after being given commands, and the officers found him in possession of the handgun, marijuana and prescription pills, Fair said. Hill, 33, of the city, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Rollie Ellis, 27, of Pleasantville, kept interfering with police, and was charged with obstruction of justice, Fair said. She was released on a summons. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766.  Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
