Atlantic City Dolphins retire jersey of man slain last year

  • News
The Atlantic City Dolphins retired the jersey of slain former player Demond Cottman on Sunday. The 21-year-old new husband and father was fatally shot outside the Hamilton Mall
at about 1 a.m. on Black Friday. He left behind a young widow, a then-7-month-old son. But on Sunday it was a time to celebrate No. 28, and his love of football, shared with those who loved him. Cottman's father, Demond Tally, began coaching in 2003, just after his son began Pee Wee football. Tally passed on the love of working with youth to his son. On Sunday, four of Cottman's framed game jerseys were handed out: one each to his parents, one to his wife and one to his young son, who could possibly wear his daddy's number one day. The number can be used again only with the family's permission. RSV Filmz posted their video of the event Tuesday, backed by "We'll always love big poppa" by Sean "Puffy" Combs and The Lox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-RV6VYcXz0&sns=fb https://breakingac.com/grieving-atlantic-city-father-determined-to-continue-slain-sons-dream/
