An Atlantic City street now honors a man lost to violence.
Demond Cottman was just 21 when he was fatally shot outside the Hamilton Mall just after 1 a.m. Nov. 25, 2016, as shoppers arrived for Black Friday deals.
He was newly married.
His son was just six months old.

A dedication ceremony hosted by City Council President Marty Small last Sunday honored “Oskii” — as he was known to his friends — added his name atop the Presbyterian Avenue sign.
Cottman lived on the street with his family, his older brother, Rob Cottman, explained.
On Saturday, Rob Cottman honored his brother and the renaming with a video commemorating the event.
“I just want people to see the impact he had on the city,” Rob Cottman said.
Oskii helped coach the city’s youth with his father, Demond Tally.
On Sunday, Tally proudly unveiled the street sign with his son’s name.
It wasn’t the first time Cottman’s memory has been honored by the city. In September, his
No. 28 Atlantic City Dolphins jersey was retired.
