A Bridgeton man was found dead Thursday morning near an open field in Hopewell Township.
Jose Castro, 27, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the area of Barretts Run Road between Greenwhich and Adkinson roads, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb McRae said.
The killing is being investigated by New Jersey State Police and the Major Crimes Unit of the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
