Mailbox for letters to Santa returns to Atlantic City

A magical mailbox has once again shown up in Atlantic City this December.
The red mailbox in front of DeMarco’s Market in Chelsea Heights promises a direct line to Santa — with an assist from of his elves helping out at the Post Office.
While Santa, of course, knows where every child lives, the undercover postal workers from the North Pole note that addresses are important in order to write each child back.
And, as in the past two years, the local helpers will even adopt a family and purchase some special gifts for them.
The box will be up until Dec. 18, so kids are encouraged to get their letters out, and have their parents get them to the mailbox on time.
While the box is in Atlantic City, all local children are welcomed to drop their letter there.
