Atlantic City man allegedly was trespassing with loaded handgun

  • News

An Atlantic City man caught trespassing in an apartment building he was evicted from was arrested with a loaded handgun, police said.
Police were called to the Lighthouse Plaza apartments on Atlantic Avenue just after 9 a.m. Monday for a man trespassing, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Oscar Euceda, 19, was not a resident of the building and had been evicted previously, according to the report.
Officers Auttika Taing and Corey Treadway found Euceda trying to hide behind a washing machine on the 18th floor, Fair said.
Euceda refused to leave the room and speak with them, turning away from the officers, Fair said.
The officers moved in and detained Euceda, who allegedly refused to remove his hand from his pants pocket.
After removing his hand, officers found a loaded handgun, Fair said.
Euceda was arrested without incident.
He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
Euceda was arrested in Brick Township, Ocean County last year on drug and weapon charges, according to several published reports at the time.
At that time, an officer investigating suspicious vehicles allegedly found Euceda and another man with several glass smoking pipes with crack residue, empty wax folds used to store heroin, approximately 100 pills suspected to be ecstasy and a BB gun pistol, according to the report.

The Atlantic County jail does not provide mugshots, per an order from Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner. The above photo is from the defendant's booking at the Ocean County jail.
