An Egg Harbor City man who has been sent to prison three times in a robbery case was arrested Wednesday after he was allegedly caught stealing from an Atlantic City hotel.
Officers Nicholas Grasso and Justin Peyton responded to the Best Western in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue at 10:23 p.m., for a report of a man threatening others, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Three employees were outside and told Grasso the man was still in the lobby, according to the report.
Grasso came in and saw Jahlil Boston behind the counter taking money from the register, Fair said.
Grasso and Peyton then arrested Boston without incident.
The money was recovered.
An investigation found that Boston came in, threatened employees and then forced his way behind the counter, Fair said. The employees fled in fear.
There were no injuries.
Boston, 31, is charged with robbery and burglary, and is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
He previously served time for a 2010 robbery charge.
Boston was released from prison after serving more than four years, but went back twice for violations, records show.
He maxed out Oct. 31, 2019.
