A South Dakota man wanted in the fatal shooting of an Atlantic City man at an Egg Harbor City banquet hall is now in jail.
Dominique Woodall, 27, is charged with murder and weapons offenses in the killing of Terrance Dismuke.
Woodall, who has been a fugitive since the killing Friday, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Tuesday at a Pleasantville residence, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed.
Officers had a residence on Tunis Avenue surrounded overnight, with family of the victim close.
"Dominique Woodall, this is the police department," an officer could be heard informing the suspect. "We have the residence surrounded. We have a warrant for your arrest."
He is then informed to put his hands on his head and surrender.
Woodall was arrested without incident, the Prosecutor's Office said.
He will remain jailed pending a detention hearing.
Family members of both men were at the repast Friday at Beacon Hall on St. Louis Avenue when they heard a gunshot, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
They then saw Dismuke running away from a blue Dodge Challenger, the affidavit states.
Behind the wheel was Woodall, according to the allegations.
A passenger inside the vehicle told police Woodall had a firearm on his lap. He shot Dismuke, who was standing on the passenger side at the time, according to witnesses.
The Challenger's passengers got out of the vehicle, and Woodall drove away, the affidavit states.
Family members then started to drive Dismuke to the hospital, but were stopped by police, who got him an ambulance.
Dismuke, 30, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
