Atlantic City man pleads guilty in shooting that wounded one

An Atlantic City man admitted to aggravated assault and weapons offenses in a shooting last year.

Two people were targeted in the May 21, 2022, shooting. One was wounded.

Kareem Rex, 28, admitted that he shot at the victim multiple times at about 5:22 a.m. May 21, 2022.

He and Kareem Lamb then fled on foot, according to the plea made Monday.

Lamb, 16, previously pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and pointing a firearm.

He was sentenced to three years as an adult Tuesday. He must serve at least 85 percent under the No Early Release Act. He is in a juvenile facility.

Rex, who originally faced two counts of attempted murder, faces eight years in prison with a mandatory 85 percent.

His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 11.

Rex remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
