Atlantic City man gets eight years in shooting

  • News

An Atlantic City man was sentenced to eight years in prison for a shooting that wounded one person last year.

Kareem Rex, 28, and his 16-year-old co-defendant admitted to shooting at two people at about 5:22 a.m. May 21, 2022, in Atlantic City, then fleeing.

The teen, Kareem Lamb, was waived up to adult court, and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Rex admitted in August to firing a handgun at the victim several times.

He was sentenced Monday before Superior Court Judge Donna Taylor.

Rex must serve at least 85 percent of his term, or just more than 6½ years.
