Puppy stolen from Linwood home amid rash of car burglaries and thefts

  • News

Police are looking for suspects who stole a puppy from a Linwood home during a rash of burglaries and motor vehicle thefts.

The burglaries have been happening in the Linwood and Northfield areas.

Early Sunday morning, the suspects also took a French bulldog puppy from inside a home on West Vernon Avenue, according to the report.

The victim said two vehicles were also taken, along with her purse from inside her home.

These suspects are using garage door openers to gain access to residents’ homes, police warned.

"We must stress the importance of locking not only your vehicles but also your exterior doors to your home and removing the garage door openers, if possible," Linwood police said in a Facebook post. "All interior doors between your garage and home should be locked as well."

Video from various nearby surveillance have been shared with police, who invite any residents with additional video to contact Detective Sgt. Timothy Devine at 609-927-7979 or email tips@linwoodpd.org.

The victim whose puppy was stolen said her license and two of her children's insurance cards were found in the parking lot of the Wawa on Delilah Road.

More of the stolen items were recovered from the Walmart parking lot in Mays Landing.

A neighbor's dashcam captured footage of three men entering the house through the garage and leaving in the vehicles, the woman added.
