A teen was shot as he rode his dirt bike down an Atlantic City street Tuesday night.
Valencia Terrell was playing with her grandkids when she heard gunfire, which she said sounded like they came from behind her home.
Her first thought was of her 20-year-old daughter who had just left for the store.
Terrell ran outside and found the 17-year-old in the area of South Carolina and Drexel avenues.
The teen known as Mod, told Terrell he couldn't feel his legs and that his chest hurt, she said.
She saw wounds to his left shoulder and left leg.
The bike had also been struck and was leaking gas, she said. Terrell asked people to get water because it was smoking.
The city's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
Terrell helped the teen, and was relieved when her daughter returned home a short time later.
