Resident complaints lead to two arrests, a gun and drugs

  • News
Two men were arrested Saturday, after resident complaints led Atlantic City police to recovery of a gun and drugs in a Pacific Avenue hotel. Officers with a new street-crime initiative conducted a "walk-through" of the Fox Manor Hotel just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. When David Roary opened the door of a room to find uniformed Officer Daniel Arra there, he tried to slam the door and caught the officers hand in the doorway, according to the report. Officers Christopher Dodson, Christian Ivanov and Alberto Valles helped Arra and Roary was taken into custody. Inside, officers found another man, Cyril Roary, inside, along with a loaded handgun and cocaine, Fair said. David Roary, 32, and Cyril, 23, were arrested by the officers, under the supervision of Sgt. Charles Stuart. Cyril Roary was released from Talbot Hall, an assessment center for Department of Corrections inmates, in September. He had served time on drug and eluding charges. The relationship between the two men was not available. Both were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense. David Roary was additionally charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Arras was not injured. The Roarys are jailed on $100,000 bail each
