A Massachusetts man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for human trafficking.
Galen Spriggs was arrested after a woman called Atlantic City police saying she was forced there form Massachusetts and had been held captive, forced to have sex for money.
The 23-year-old woman, identified only as C.A., said she was beaten if she didn’t bring home enough money.
Spriggs, 29, pleaded guilty last month to a single count of human trafficking, acknowledging he brought the woman to Atlantic City from Boston by threatening her with serious bodily harm.
The investigation was led by the FBI’S Child Exploitation Task Force, which focuses on human trafficking in the area, with cooperation from Atlantic City police.
The victim was helped by the Dream Catcher program.
