A Georgia man was arrested Friday, after police allegedly found drugs on him during a car stop.
Officers Christopher Dodson and Alberto Valles stopped Kendall Johnson in the 1300 block of Atlantic Avenue just after 10 a.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
When Johnson opened the center console to get out his paperwork, Valles saw a scale and plastic bags, according to the report.
The officers also smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, Fair said.
Johnson, 26, of Buford, Ga., was unable to provide the proper document and didn't have a license, the report said.
He was asked to get out of the car, and then tried to run from Dodson into oncoming traffic, Fair said.
Johnson was quickly taken into custody.
He was found with 69 bags of heroin, 8 grams of marijuana and 4 grams of cocaine, according to the report.
Johnson was charged with three counts of possession, possession with intent to distribute, possession within 500 feet of a public zone, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued three motor vehicle summonses.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. He was released Sunday.
