  • News
Four people were injured in an Egg Harbor Township crash Wednesday night. Anaya Coles, 19, of Pleasantville, was traveling west just before 6:30 p.m. on Washington Avenue when she was struck as she tried to turn left onto Fire Road, police said. Philip Ettell, 44, of Little Egg Harbor Township, disregarded the red light when he struck Coles' car, according to the report. The impact caused Coles' car to spin and come to a stop in the northbound lane of Fire Road. Ettell's car overturned and came to rest on its roof in the eastbound lane of Washington. Ettell, Coles and her two passengers were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for injuries ranging from moderate to severe, police said. Ettell was charged with disregarding a traffic signal, careless driving and driving while suspended. Criminal charges are pending further investigation, police said. This crash is being investigated by Officers Louis Poletis, Thomas Rocco and Robert Moran. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926- 2661.
