Mays Landing man arrested in August shooting that wounded Atlantic City man

  • News
A Mays Landing man has been arrested in an August shooting that wounded a man in Atlantic City. A four-month investigation by the department’s Violent Crimes Unit led to a warrant issued Wednesday for Seifulah Abdullah in the Aug. 27 shooting of a 21-year-old Atlantic City man. The victim, whose name was not released, walked into the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus about a half-hour after the fatal shooting of Deshawn Dawkins
. It was not clear at the time whether the two were related. But it appears now that they are not. Two men were recently charged in Dawkins' killing. One, Brian Richardson, is still being sought by police. The 21-year-old was shot in the area of Indiana and Hummock avenues. Officer Franco Sydnor arrested Abdullah at about 10:25 a.m. Thursday at Kentucky and Adriatic avenues. Abdullah, 27, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Abdullah was previously arrested by Atlantic City on Aug. 31, just four days after the shooting. At that time, Officers Anthony Moore and Armani Rex allegedly saw him making a drug deal in the beach block of Ocean Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. He ran when they approached him, but was quickly caught. At the time, police said he had more than 11 grams of cocaine on him and a loaded handgun. It is not clear whether that gun was later linked to the shooting. https://breakingac.com/mays-landing-man-arrested-with-gun-and-drugs/
