A man found dead Feb. 1 in Lakewood has been identified as a teen reported missing three days earlier.
Eliabit Mena, 18, was reported missing Jan. 29, after his mother said he was supposed to meet friends at Lake Shenandoah Park that day, authorities said. His car was found in the park's parking lot.
A woman was walking her dog at Lake Shenandoah Park at about 2:15 p.m. last Wednesday found Mena lying on the ground unresponsive.
Lakewood police responded, and found that he was dead, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
Investigators from the Lakewood Detective Bureau, prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit and Ocean County Sheriff's Department CSI processed the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
His death has been classified a homicide, but no details about the death have been released.
